Family Violence Case Manager

· Salary range $80,620 to $91,686 a year based on experience

About the role
Based in Wodonga, the Family Violence Case Manager position requires someone who can play a pivotal part in enhancing our service capacity to provide early intervention, response, and recovery support for victims of Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence (DFSV). This includes addressing the needs of DFSV victim-survivors and focussing on boosting AWAHS staff expertise to manage complex and specialized responses to DFSV cases.
A key aspect of the role will be providing resources to service providers to improve trauma-informed care for DFV victim-survivors, whilst also expanding the number of specialist DFV workers in remote, regional, and rural areas.
This is a contract position until June 2025, that is expected to continue conditional upon further funding.
About you
· You have proven case management expertise in consulting, assessing, supporting, referring, and following up with clients impacted by Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV), with a focus on addressing related health factors such as grief, trauma, mental health issues, and substance use
· You are experienced in team care planning and delivering outreach support
· You work collaboratively with clients on recovery-focused interventions and goal setting
· You advocate and promote holistic care and can facilitate access to both mainstream and specialist services
· You have strong skills in collaborating with other service providers, liaising with clinical and community groups to enhance service coordination, and contributing effectively to team efforts
· Proven community engagement and experience in facilitating community screening activities and performing detailed client examinations and risk assessments to ensure comprehensive support and effective service delivery
Eligibility Criteria and Requirements
- Certificate 3 (or higher) Qualification relevant to the role.
- Extensive Relevant Experience supporting Aboriginal people and their families impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence.
- Understanding of Health and Social Issues relevant to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
- High-Level Communication Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
- Advanced Computer Literacy in using various software applications.
- Current Driver’s Licence
