Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation providing health and wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Albury, Wodonga and surrounding communities.
Due to retirement, we are now looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to provide practical, trusted HR support across our growing organisation. You will be based at the impressive brand new Wodonga AWAHS medical clinic and be an influential support and mentor to 80 staff across various locations.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with managers and staff, this is a broad generalist role covering employee relations, workforce planning, payroll, recruitment and onboarding, performance management, staff wellbeing, training and development, employment policies and day to day HR advice.
Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation requires respect, listening, strong relationships and genuine cultural awareness.
You do not need to be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply however you do need to demonstrate the cultural capability and willingness to work within the values and principles of a community driven health service.
About you
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, HR Management or Organisational Development
- Broad generalist HR experience and sound ER/IR knowledge
- Confidence advising and supporting managers on workplace matters
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across an organisation
- A genuine understanding of and respect for Aboriginal culture and community
- A practical and collaborative approach to Human Resource Management
