We are seeking a part time Maternal and Child Health Nurse to deliver culturally safe, holistic and community focussed care to Aboriginal children and families across the Albury Wodonga region. You will focus on strengthening positive early childhood outcomes and supporting parents through their early parenting journey.
About the role:
In this role, you will deliver the Victorian Universal MCH Program and conduct Key Ages and Stages consultations across both home and community settings, playing a pivotal role in supporting children’s early development. Your responsibilities will include conducting health and developmental screenings for children aged 0–6 and assisting with the coordination of childhood immunisation services.
This position places a strong emphasis on early intervention and health promotion. You will actively engage in community-based programs and initiatives designed to strengthen family wellbeing, while supporting parents through culturally led programs that empower families, nurture cultural connection, and promote positive early childhood outcomes.
What You will Bring:
- Current RN (Div1) Registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria and as a Midwife with additional qualifications in Maternal and Child Health Nursing
- Accreditation as a nurse immuniser (or willingness to complete the nurse immuniser course within 6 months of commencement)
- Understanding of current health and social impacts relevant to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Current driver’s licence and clearances (WWCC, Police Check)
