Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.
Our Medical Receptionists are the first point of contact in this important multi service health hub and we are seeking a dynamic and caring administration professional to support the quality care experience for our patients.
Main Responsibilities are:
- Display a highly professional and welcoming approach
- Provide a high level of customer service as the primary point of contact to the organisation
- Build and maintain effective relationships with both the team and patients/clients while ensuring the privacy and dignity of clients is maintained
- Act with tact and diplomacy when dealing with information of a highly sensitive nature.
- Be prompt and professional when answering and transferring telephone calls and ensuring information is shared and actioned when required
- Coordinate clinic appointments, update Communicare and coordinate phone triage as required.
- Undertake special tasks as directed by the Office Manager
Experience, Qualifications & Licenses:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer services experiences
- Good generalist computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Willingness to undertake professional training and development to support the Medical Receptionist role and responsibilities.
- Previous experience in a medical practice or a related reception role will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and current issues affecting lives of Aboriginal people.
- A Certificate of Aboriginality.
- A Current National Police Check.
- A Current Working with Children Check NSW.
- Current Australian Driver’s License.
